Required Qualifications
DPM Degree, eligibility for the academic title of assistant professor.
Podiatrists must have a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree from an
accredited college of podiatric medicine accredited by the Council of
Podiatric Medical Education. Eligibility for New York State license, Board
Certified/Board eligible in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery, Forefoot and/or
Rearfoot.
Preferred Qualifications
Record of success in basic or clinical research, interest and experience
supervising undergraduate/graduate medical students, residents and fellows.
Must have completed an CPME accredited three year Hospital Residency
Program.
Responsibilities & Requirements
The Podiatric surgeon is an integral part of the Surgical Service, a
section of Vascular Surgery and provides a number of important duties. they
include but are not limited to the following:
Perform foot and ankle surgeries, for both emergent and non-emergent ,
elective reconstructive and limb salvage procedures.
Appropriate referral for Consultation to Internal Medicine, Vascular
Surgery, Infectious Disease, Rheumatology, Endocrinology, Pain management
as needed.
Participate in Cadaver lab, and lecture series with the residents on a
weekly basis.
Daily hospital rounds, weekly clinical patient responsibilities in the
outpatient facilities, OR cases in both the main Hospital and Ambulatory
Surgery Center as scheduled.
On call as per the Podiatry Team, with Hospital and ER coverage 24/7 every
third week.
Responsible for entering appropriate notes into the official medical record
using the Computerized Patient Record System. This includes dictating
office notes and operative reports on a timely basis.
Special Notes
This is a non-tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible
for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to
occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: as soon as possible
